Kris Jenner to Lamar Odom: Quit the NBA!
This is very sad but true: Kris Jenner had a better year than Lamar Odom.
The matriarch of the richest family on reality TV just negotiated a new $40 million deal for her children... while a listless Odom averaged a career low in points and rebounds and was cut by the Mavs.
So we suppose it's not too shocking that Jenner thinks she can offer her son-in-law professional advice which, according to a Hollywood Life insider, goes like this: forget the NBA. Focus on E!.
“Kris is eager for Khloe and Lamar to do another season of their reality show," this Kardashian source claims, but:
"[Khloe] doesn’t want to push Lamar into doing anything he doesn’t want to do because she knows it will only backfire. Kris thinks doing another season will help their relationship, but the real reason she wants them to do another season of Khloe & Lamar is because she thinks the show keeps them relevant."
However, someone close to the NBA thinks Lamar needs to make a choice - and that choice is clear if he wants to ball professionally again.
“Teams have to deal with enough, and these outside distractions will not be welcomed," this insider says. "Teams are now worrying about younger and cheaper players that are not headcases who do reality shows - they are against it.”

Wiz Khalifa And Mac Miller Ham Up Rap Beef On 'RapFix Live'
The Pittsburgh pair refuse to look at each other in their first joint interview.

Call them hip-hop's odd couple. Though they both hail from Pittsburgh and are signed to local indie label Rostrum Records, Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller absolutely hate each other — well, not really. On Wednesday's "RapFix Live," the 'Burgh's finest appeared together for their first joint interview.
Rather than play things straight, the pair decided to have a little fun on set.
"Why is he here?" Wiz asked, throwing his hands in the air after host Sway Calloway brought Mac onto the "RapFix Live" set.
"I'm getting hated on on this couch man; can I get my own couch?" Mac responded.
Sway tried to play peacemaker, but Wiz and Mac weren't having it. The two were cordial enough to sit down on the red couch together, but refused to face each other.
"I haven't seen you in a while man, you looking good," Khalifa said, looking away from Miller trying to break the playful tension. "Thanks, wish I can say the same for you, man," Mac responded, trying his best to hold in his laughter.
A beef between Pittsburgh's two biggest rap stars would be quite problematic, considering that the duo are planning to hit the road together this summer on the Under the Influence of Music tour. Khalifa and Miller will be joined by Taylor Gang's Chevy Woods as well as TDE's Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q on the nine-show run.
Though they remain good friends, Wiz and Mac have built their own careers separate from each other. There are only a few low-key collaborations between the pair, but they plan to record together again soon. "Me and Mac are gonna collaborate together because that's what I want to do, it doesn't matter what he wants to do. What I say goes," Wiz said in character. "We're gonna do a song, because we've had a plan this whole time," Mac revealed.
"Actually I need Mac. I'm trying to use his success to boost my album because it's about to come out," Khalifa joked.

Square Now Processing $5B In Payments Per Year; Volume Up 25 Percent Since March
Payments platform Square has released a number of new stats today, as well as good news for merchants using its mobile payments app to accept credit cards. According to a Bloomberg report, Square is now processing $5 billion in annual payments (or around $416 million in payments per month), which is up from $4 billion in annual payments in March. And payment volume is up 25 percent over the past month. Square also says that it will be making funds available in merchants' bank accounts the next business morning (for any sales made before 5 pm), while other merchant processors can take 2 to 5 business days to get merchants their money. Motorola Solutions reports Q1 2012 sales of $2 billion, expects jump in Q2
Motorola Solutions (MSI) -- the less familiar Motorola that makes radios, barcode scanners and such for government and enterprise sectors -- just posted sales of $2 billion for the first quarter of 2012. This is a seven percent boost over Moto's results from the same period last year, and that growth reflects an 11 percent jump in government sales. It wasn't all rosy for Motorola this quarter, though: Profit was down two-thirds to $157 million, and sales to large businesses slipped two percent. MSI (not that MSI) expects second-quarter sales to grow six percent compared to last year's earnings, so it doesn't look like government clients will be dropping those wearable displays any time soon.

High-energy laser fusion experiments evoke extreme numbers -- not only in power but also in greenbacks. Sure, the current champ at the National Ignition facility in Livermore, CA can pump out a 411 trillion watt pulse, but at what price? A taxpayer-busting $200,000 per shot, with a $4 billion original construction cost. Compared to that, the new Ohio State University's 500 trillion watt model seems bargain-basement, built with a mere $6 million grant from the US Department of Energy. Admittedly, that paltry sum get you a much shorter burst, lasting 20 picoseconds compared to the NIF's several nanoseconds. But with the ability to fire 100 or more times per day, instead of just once like it's pricier kin, Ohio State will be able to assist the NIF with their fusion experiments, while also carrying on its own science, like simulating star formation. And money aside, the possibility of unlimited fusion-powered energy is always a noble goal, no?

Chinese Web Search Giant Baidu Sees $677 Million In Q1 Revenue, Up 75% Year-Over-Year
Baidu, China's leading web search company today issued its quarterly earnings report for the first three months of 2012. The company made $677 million in top-line revenue, up 75 percent from the revenue it posted in the first quarter of 2011. Baidu performed just as strongly at the bottom line as well, posting a net income of $299 million, up 75.9 percent year-over-year. New Sony iOS docks promise clearer sound thanks to magnetic fluid
You can only skim through so many iPad/iPod/iPhone docks before things start to get predictable, and when a speaker dock stands out, it's usually for a retro design or a little mood lighting. Sony's two newest iOS docks, the CMT-V50iP and the CMT-V75BTiP, may look like your standard options, but they aim to break the mold by using magnetic fluid instead of speaker dampers to move sound. Sony says this technology provides clearer audio with less distortion, and no dampers means a slimmer design. If your music collection extends beyond your iDevice, you can take advantage of the CD player and built-in DAB and DAB+ radio, or -- if you've migrated to the digital age -- stream over Bluetooth on the CMT-V75BTiP or connect via USB on the CMT-V50iP. Sony just announced these yesterday, and pricing info remains MIA, though The Verge reports that both models will drop in the next few months.
